BOAT & TACKLE

24' Parker with four stroke Yamaha Outboard MotorThe Boat
Our fishing boat is a 24' Parker, proven durable and capable in Alaskan waters. The cabin is warm, comfortable, with a private marine toilet and easily seats groups of 4 to 6 passengers. We take pride in our work and our boat, so we keep it clean and well maintained. The boat is equipped with a top of the line Furuno GPS depth and fish finder; this allows us to quickly access our favorite fishing locales. The boat is fast and quiet, powered by a 250 hp 4-stroke Yamaha, she easily cruises at speeds of 25 knots and faster. With the safety of our guests always in mind, we have met all of the current Coast Guard safety requirements.

Fishing Tackle
When the fish are hitting, it can sometimes seem like it doesn't matter what bait you use, they are going to bite. However, these fish can be very temperamental and no matter how hard you try, there are times when they are going to elude you. This is why you want to be confident that you are fishing with the right bait and tackle. You do not want to leave it up to chance and waste your valuable time. There can be nothing more frustrating than using the wrong fishing equipment.

In our opinion, one the most important pieces of equipment to a fisherman's overall experience and success, is using the right fishing rod and reel to get the job done. This being the case, you don't want a meat stick meant for horsing the fish to the boat. Having fished in Alaska our whole lives, we understand what gear works best and have equipped our boat with some of the finest, time tested fishing gear that we know of.

For salmon, we use Cannon Downriggers, which are meant to get your bait quickly and accurately down to the depths the fish are at. Along with the downriggers we use Shimano Talora medium to light weight rods, Shimano Charter Specials, and 25 lb. test line.

When bottom fishing for halibut we use 80 lb. test Power Pro line and Penn 330 GTI's along with Shakespeare Tidewater fishing rods. The gear is limber so you can feel the power behind these wild Alaskan fish, yet strong enough so you can get the lunkers to the boat without any unnecessary hang-ups.

We have all the baits, lures, and terminal tackle necessary to maximize your efficiency on the water. Get ready to start your Alaskan adventure now!! Book now to guarantee the dates you will be visiting Ketchikan.
