Ketchikan, Alaska Fishing Trip
Details
Alaska Fishing Packages>

Once you book with Salty Sea
Charters, you may want to make arrangements for a
car
rental or you may arrange for us to
meet and pick you up. To get started fishing, you will
need an Alaska fishing license that you can purchase through
us or online with the Alaska Department of Fish &
Game. An Alaska fishing license is
$20 plus an optional $10 king salmon stamp, children under
16 are exempt.
On the morning of your fishing
charter, we will meet at the marina. Fishing trips typically
begin at 7 am, or we can easily accommodate your schedule.
Running time to the salmon fishing grounds can be anywhere from
30 minutes to
2 hours depending upon the
time of year. Running time to the halibut fishing grounds is
usually around 1 to 2 hours. We provide a hearty sack
lunch, snacks and beverages on the
boat.
Ketchikan's weather can
be unpredictable and we recommend that you come prepared
for rain or shine. The weather conditions in the summer
can change in a minute, ranging from cold and drizzly in the
50's, to sunny and warm in the 70's and 80's. Also, don't
forget your sunglasses and sunscreen; the reflection off the
water can be very bright and
intense.
Salty Sea Charters will arrange
custom processing for your fish. You can pose with
your "catch of the day" before they are filleted, flash
frozen, and boxed. Your fish will be overnighted to your home
on the day you specify.
