Our Alaska Fishing Boat

Our fishing boat, Stellar Blue is a 28' Osprey Long Cabin.  These boats are well known for being rugged and powerful, ideal for the Alaskan waters. Full walk around decks, full galley, stand up head, an electric flush toilet, and a Wallace Heater to keep you warm on those cold days, are just some of the features you will find. 

We want our guests to feel as comfortable as possible while out there on the water, and we know that starts with having a fishing vessel that is safe, clean, and well maintained.  On board Stellar Blue, we want your first impression to be "what a great boat," not, "what is that smell!"  We might also venture to say we have the cleanest restroom in the fleet.     

Stellar Blue is equipped with state of the art electronics from SIMRAD, allowing us to easily navigate to our favorite salmon and halibut fishing locales. The boat is powered by a 310hp Volvo D-6 turbo diesel engine.  This engine is extremely powerful, and unlike the diesels of the past, she is smoke free, quiet, and smoothly cruises at speeds in excess of 25 knots...helping you get the most out of your Ketchikan fishing charter. With the safety of our guests always in mind, we go out of our way to meet all of the current Cost Guard safety requirements.

Alaska Fishing Tackle   

When Alaska salmon fishing, we us electric Cannon down riggers, Shimano  rods and Shimano Charter Special reels, along with 25 to 30 lb test monofiliment line.  Our Alaska halibut fishing gear is light weight, yet more than capable of pulling up those "barn door" halibut. We use 80 lb test Power Pro line and Penn reels, along with Shakespeare Tidewater fishing rods. All the fishing gear we use, is limber enough so you can enjoy the sport of reeling in your powerful Alaskan salmon or halibut, yet strong enough so you can get the lunkers into the boat.
